Managed to put in a two hour stint yesterday…enjoying how the dappled sunlight in leaves is coming along. Added glazes in viridian green with pthalo blue to cool him down as he was getting very pink/yellow. Fiddled too much with the eyes and ignored the rest of the face, but i think next session i must start slapping the paint on thickly with more medium. Making the mistake of using too much white early on which is turning the surface a bit chalky, hoping glazes and/or thick paint will help. Adjusting the proportions of the hand too. Push and pull, light and dark, back and forth, yup, oil painting.
